Black Country Living Museum

On 2 July 2022 our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, accompanied by leaders and group supporters, visited the Black Country Living Museum. Everyone had a great day and we’d like to thank the #ArnoldClarkCommunityFund for their support in making this happen. Here’s a look at what they got up to during their visit.

Climbing & Hillwalking

On 15th May 2022 a party of 10 Scouts accompanied by 3 leaders headed up to Burbage Rocks in the Peak District for a day of climbing and hillwalking under the tutelage of Nottinghamshire Scouts Adventure. The group spent the morning climbing which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. This was the first time most has climbed onContinue reading “Climbing & Hillwalking”

Scouts were given grid references for a series of checkpoints and then plotted the route they needed to walk to get to them.Continue reading “Scouts’ Local Walk”

Straightening the Beacon

We were recently asked whether we would be able to do anything to straighten the beacon in the Parish Centre car park as it is planned to light it as part of the celebrations to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. Following a quick assessment of what was required a smallContinue reading “Straightening the Beacon”

Model Maker Badge

Hike Camp – 25/26 September 2021

What a great weekend 2nd Warsop Scouts have had on our first camp since the start of lockdown. Two groups planned a separate hike route from Warsop to Walesby, and then walked the 12 miles to get there showing great map reading skills and personal commitment to complete the task. On arrival, they all then pitched tarp tents which they slept in on Saturday evening. It was great to see them back together and enjoying time together as a group. Great work Scouts!
